Following concerns raised about the welfare of sheep, a police investigation has been carried out in consultation with DEFRA. The matter has now been addressed, and arrangements have been made for DEFRA to carry out occasional checks to help ensure the animals continue to receive appropriate care. All parties are expected to work cooperatively moving forward, and support will remain in place to maintain welfare standards. Animal welfare is important to our community, and we will continue to work with partner agencies to respond appropriately to any concerns. |
